Music to me is my life and has saved and liberated me. When everything was taken from me, music was all that was left.
Music has saved me more than once. Without it I don’t know what would’ve happened. It is my voice.
Because of my ‘adoption’ I had lost everything and everyone and I was uprooted and forced to land in a place and life far from where I was born. I lived the unknown: from people to places. All of it was new, unsettling and unfamiliar. From my adoptive family home, I was put in numerous boarding schools and I had to face life by myself.
Being by myself made me afraid to talk or even use my voice. Music provided healing and helped me with strengthening my voice; making it louder and more powerful. It healed me.
Through my music I communicate with myself and the world around me. It has become a way of me to reach, heal and change those who come in contact with it.
